Shiru WA GP is the second born in the family of three children. Her mother’s is Jane Njeri. Her mother used to sell chang’aa, and Shiru used to watch out for any policemen approaching so that she could alert her not to be caught unawares. The chang’aa money would pay for their fees and cater for basic needs. Shiru Wa GP Husband and Wedding Shiru Wa GP is married to Antony Thuo. Anthony was a keyboard player. They wedded at Kiambu Deliverance Church.
Anthony Thou is an accountant with a leading bank in the country. Shiru Wa GP Twins Shiru wa GP was enduring an emotional time barely a month after giving birth to her twins.
She lost one of the twins due to natural causes. The barely one month old baby Anthony Mwangi Thuo was buried at Mugumo in Kiambu.
He was born on August 11, 2014 and passed away on September 16th, 2014. The other surviving twin (a girl) named Esther had to be attended to at the MP Shah hospital in Nairobi. Her late son Anthony died in his sleep. Shiru Wa GP tried to wake the twins up from their sleep so that she could feed them but baby Anthony did not wake up. He had no known medical condition prior to his death.
Shiru Wa GP Music Career Shiru Wa GP started singing at a very tender age; when she was in class five. Her favorite songs as a child then were those of Simon Kihara, famously known as Musaimo. After completing primary school education at Loreto Primary School in Turitu, She moved to Githurai in Nairobi to live with her uncle. She later went back to Kiambu and joined the A.P dancing group and formed Kiambu Chosen Generation Dancers. She also started attending church service at the Independent Church, though not as irregular.
When she went back to Nairobi,she became a full Christian convert and fully dedicated her life to Christ at Home Care Fellowship in Kahawa, under Rev. Ann Kamau. She was persuaded by a mother called Nyina Wa Mbugua to get saved,which she did. When she returned to Kiambu, her mother could not understand why she decided to get saved.
Her mother was not for her decision of salvation since her work was to keep watch of the police and tip her mother off if she saw the police. When she got saved she used to spend most of her time in church praying and helping in other church activities. One Sunday,her mother decided to follow her to the church to see what she was doing there.

Due to the collapse of her mothers changa business when she got saved, she took a house help job that sustained her family. In the meantime, she remained a very active praise and worship team member. They received great support in this team from Pastor Kiprono. Shiru WA GP later fell in love with Antony Thuo, who was their keyboard player. We wedded at Kiambu Deliverance Church. Shiru Wa GP got great support from her husband Anthony towards the realisation of her dream of becoming a good gospel musician. Anthony would play the keyboard as she practised and later programme them for her.
However, she could not raise enough money to record the songs. She therefore decided to seek the help from her pastor Mr Hinga and he organised a fundraiser for to help record the songs. She then recorded her first song called Muoroto at Big Heart Studios. Soon after recording the songs, she embarked on the journey of marketing the music.
She visited several places to popularize the songs and lucky enough God helped her to make some good sales. By this time, Anthony was back in college to complete his course and Shiro had to assume the role of providing for their small family. Two years later, Shiru Wa GP recorded another song called Agiginyani.
This song was aimed at motivating her not to give up regards of the challenges they were going through as newly wedded couples. Shiru Wa GP was working at Wilson Airport when the song hit the market – with a bang. She decided to leave her job at Wilson Airport so as to concentrate in the marketing of the new song which was no doubt very promising. Because of her song, so many opportunities opened up for her in a manner that she had never imagined before. One of the high profile invitations she received because of the new recording was an invite to perform in the United States of America. She stayed in America for three months and visited more than 10 states in the US. She could hardly believe the president like receptions she received everywhere she visited.
But By the time she was leaving the US, people were still asking for more of her performance.
