Feb 7, 2013 - 2. Go to RTW/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign there you'll see a file named descr_strat. Open All Factions Playable.zip. In Medieval II: Total War the descr_strat.txt is set to read only. To fix this, right click the file, select properties and uncheck 'read-only'. Press OK and you are good to go. (Supposedly) Usage. The Descr_strat.txt contains all info about the beginning of every campaign.
Getting the Read Only File error? Follow what I do and you will be able to unlock all factions! Steps: 1) locate C: Program Files (x86) SEGA Medieval II Total War data world maps campaign imperial_campaign 2) Find the descr_strat.txt file and right click on it.
